Day 2/3

Report by Scott Burns

Well, I know we were advertizing a blog entry for every day of the trip, but that has already been challenged due to some glitches with technology in the Bush (a fond term for Alaska that is not connected to the road system).

The Lord stopped the freak 24 hr rainstorm in time to get our team flown out to Pt Alsworth in 5 separate trips. Upon crossing through the mountains, we found the weather to be beautiful and calm. To call the views through the mountains beautiful, is a cheap attempt to compliment such handywork of the Lord. Jagged peaks, hanging glaciers, braided rivers, baby blue glacier lakes swirled with dark blue water and black mountains covered with a velvety green carpet of tundra fill the views of the flight. Truly amazing!

Today has been spent getting to know the other team from Michigan who has joined forces with our group to minister to the coming students. We took time practicing the workshops that everyone will be teaching in the coming week. We also found some time to take a hike, shoot some guns and catch some fish.

Tomorow will feature the arrival of our campers from Pedro Bay, Dillingham, Nondaltan, Igigik, Igiagik, Illiamna, and other villages around us. So keep praying for us... that the Lord will work in the camper's lives and in ours.
